The Example We Provide Our Children & Others: Demonstrating weakness, God’s strength & the power to succeed!

Does the example we provide our children provide a vision for what is possible? Do we demonstrate how to live out our new characteristics as children of God and do so achieving great success in life? Are we showing them how to dream big and accomplish great things and teaching them how to catch their own vision in life?

Demonstrating weakness

Google defines weakness as “the state or condition of lacking strength.”

When we go to church we all nod in half hearted approval agreeing that like Christ we should be weak. For Christ was God and made a choice to come to Earth in the form of a man and live among us. He choose not to act as God, but instead lived in our weakness. We are to emulate Christ and therefore we are to demonstrate weakness.

Wait a minute! What about you can achieve all things, we can be who we want, and do what we want! What about the road to success and the strength we are to show as men and women of power. As women we can vote, work any job a man can, serve in the Armed Forces, choose what we want to do with our bodies, and decide whether we want to work in or out of the home. What about that!

Consider that the weakness we are to demonstrate is really no weakness at all.

“the Spirit helps us in our weakness” Romans 8:26
“the weakness of God is stronger than men” 1 Cor. 1:25
“It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power” 1 Cor. 15:43
“for my power is made perfect in weakness” 2 Cor. 12:9
“For He was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God.” 2 For 13:4

Compared to God we do lack strength. It’s God. Compared to my creator I lack strength. That’s no so bad.

What happens is the strength that we had is replaced. We are raised in the power of God, inside us perfect power, and power that is stronger than men. So we have replaced our strength with perfect strength and we now live with that! BAM!

So I challenge you with this knowledge. We are not to muck about life demonstrating ourselves as fragile creatures. We are not to demonstrate to our children that we are helpless babes whose sole purpose in life is to mush to Sunday School class and back. That we are relegated to coloring, crafts, singing, and potlucks.

NOW, kicks in the success guides, motivational speakers, and how-to’s. I have the foundation and strength of a living God to back my endeavors and great endeavors they should be. So now I take those tips and guides on how to create a great life and I conquer them with the power of the almighty God!

What I demonstrate to my children is fearless living and what a woman of God looks like when strengthened by the Holy Spirit. My Father will aid me and I will accomplish much in His name. Show your children His strength and you will empower them with an understanding that with Him they can truly accomplish anything.

Go! This is the year to do something great!
