He gave Himself for ME!
Before I went to bed last night I studied Galatians. I am kind of stuck on this passage.
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
The commentary I am using as an aid to study this passage recommends that we meditate on the ME.
Christ who lives in ME.
Gave Himself for ME.
In a moment of desperation I prayed. Oh Lord help me grasp that you live in ME. In ME. The Creator of the universe lives in ME. I want to get that. I want to live with an understanding that JESUS CHRIST IS IN ME!
Of course I know that I am saved. I don’t doubt that, but I don’t live really getting what it means that Christ is in ME. In ME. I want to get it. I believe when I do my life will be renewed and I will live every moment focused on Christ.
My loving Father sent His son to die for ME. For the wretch that I was. He looked at my poor soul and said I will die for her. I will die for her even though she hates me, sins against me, ignores me and denies me. He did this for ME.
When I woke up this morning these verses were pouring through my veins, my mind and my heart. They are working. My focus has been shifted from the problems of this world, to the beauty that exists in eternity.
It is not I who live, but Christ who lives in ME! In ME! What shall we do today Lord. What do you have planned? Whatever it is we will be together.
